We worship it by looking at it’s contents peroidically. Rearly can we pass by it without opening it to look inside as if something materialized inside it belly over the last 10 minutes. Searching to please the palate.
The libraries and bookstores are fiiled with various novels written by acclaimed doctors and food nutrition experts. These weight loss schemes have buzzwords , like keto (high fat diet), Paleo (caveman food),
Vegan (not eating animal based foods), and many more combinations. They are systems to hack the normal digestive and energy storage functions of the body. The users of the dietary systems never address their inter desire to eat. Thus, the dietary system is successful, but many users of the system never achieve long lasting results, because they never confront the enemy within.
The sin of glutton comes in five forms.
*Eating food that is luxurious.
For example, fudge, German chocolate cake. Food That is expensive.
*Eating food with great quality.
For example, Eating foods with spices and flavoring, which usually means to much
salt.
*Eating to much food.
For example, making 5 trips through the buffet line at the all you can eat restaurant. Eating three eggs for breakfast when you should only eat one.
*Eating to often
For example, Eating in the morning, noon, and at night. Then snacking all day on chips and soda. This may have been ok in the 1800's when everyone worked a farm all day, but in modern society we go to work and sit in a chair all day. Eat smaller portions fewer times per day.
*Eating to greedily
For example, allowing your mind to seek pleasure in the food being eaten. Food is just nourishment. There is nothing sensual about it. Don't fall into this trap.
nothing tastes as good as skinny feels
We all must eat to survive. However, it is the line between eating what is necessary to survive and eating to satisfy the desire for pleasure. It is pleasure eating that causes the problem.
Every human comes with a built-in time to eat, alarm clock. It is called a growling stomach. Use it to tame the enemy dwelling within. Eat only when you are hungry. Pray(self talk) for strength when you desire to eat, but are not hungry.
